HOW MIDI BRAIN WORKS:
The vibration force picked up by piezo sensor convert it to electrical signal.This analog signal converted to digital signal using ADC (Analog to Digital Converter).Controller works as a computer to process digital signal into certain serial MIDI format.In case of Tapdrum MIDI brain, the board has eight sensor inputs(triggers), one MIDI output and one MIDI input.We can modifiy this board and use different sensors for different purpose.Or for example we can use temperature/humidity sensors and convert MIDI output to RS232 serial output.We can use it as Alarm/home monitoring, 8 bit Analog Data Acquisition etc.
BUILD TAPDRUM DO IT YORSELF (DIY). STEP 1. Assemble Tapdrum MIDI brain board.Get all electronics parts needed an solder them on the board.

STEP 3. Connect Tapdrum MIDI Board to Drum machine or PC (it needs sound card with MIDI interface capability ).Make sure set the proper channel.Drum notes usually using Channel 10.You should hear voice/sound when you tap piezo triggers. STEP 4. You might build your own instrument body to put Tapdrum board/s.We accept custom order to build Instrument bodies such as Rainbow Tapdrum MIDI Controller. |
